Milam County, we have a unique opportunity. As the county prepares to implement an animal services capability across the county, we have a chance to look at what we really need and desire for the county. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could lead the way for small counties in Texas by designing a cost-effective, animal and people-friendly capability for Milam County?

We have this chance. I crafted a survey to gather your ideas to get us started. Please give us your thoughts as well as let us know areas we missed or which need more attention.

The zip code gives a broad overview, but the community you reside in can help us know where attention may be needed and will hopefully result in better results. By community, we're thinking, Minerva, Sharp, Praesel Addition, Maysfield, Marlowe, Hanover, etc.
This is for a future service that may be offered by Milam County. We know the services are too limited to be of value at this time.
No-kill doesn't mean an animal is never euthanized. It means as much as possible, an animal isn't euthanized for space. A 90% live outcome from a shelter is considered no-kill.
This would be for routine intake examinations of the animals, spay/neuter prior to adoption, routine tests and vaccinations, as well as evaluation and treatment of shelter animals.

I'd like to be more involved in our animal services but I don't know how to go about it. Please contact me to discuss this further.

Thank you for participation in our survey. We hope we'll be able to use this information to the benefit of Milam County.
