July 8, Milano Barn Cat Day

July 8, 2026, at the Milano Community Center across from the Post Office.

We have two options on Barn Cat Day — the traditional Barn Cat pricing at $61 per cat

For Barn Cat pricing — $61 for each cat, you get the following:

Spay/neuter (injected pain medication and antibiotics)

Rabies vaccination (no certificate or tag)

FVRCP vaccination

Ear Tip (required)

Please note: You will have no proof of rabies vaccination, and Brinlee Veterinary Services will have no individual record of your cat being treated. This is important for legal considerations. But if you have a barn, stray, or feral cat you are feeding, this is the program to prevent reproduction and protect the cat from rabies.

The minimum age and weight are 8 weeks and 2 lbs. (12 weeks is ideal, because they are old enough for their rabies shot)

For Porch Cat pricing — $76 for each cat, you get the following:

Spay/neuter (injected pain medication and antibiotics)

Rabies vaccination (certificate and tag)

FVRCP vaccination

Ear Tip (required)

Microchip with registration and transfer

Special Notes:

For residents inside the city limits of Milano: Your cats will be spayed or neutered at no charge to you. We’ll check your address and should already know this, but if we miss it, please ask. If you live on a county road, you are not inside city limits. If you live outside of city limits, you are not inside city limits.

The Thorndale City Grant has been exhausted for this fiscal year.

Milam County Grant. If you wish to use the Milam County Grant for this event ($40 off each cat), please check the box in the registration form.

We believe we’ve found a way for you to receive a confirmation email when you submit your registration. The email address you use to register, should be cc’d on the email we receive notifying us of your registration. You will still receive a confirmation text or email (as you indicated you preferred) a day or two before the event with pre-op instructions and your assigned drop-off time.

This event is for NON-PET cats. If you have a pet cat, please register for a Snip and Chip event, usually held on the 4th Wednesday of each month. Your cat WILL be eartipped at THIS event. The eartip may be more than you think it should be, but the purpose of an eartip is so the animal can be identifed as already spayed or neutered if it is ever trapped outside for a TNR event. If this is unacceptable to you, please do not register for this event. *

All cats must be in a carrier, crate, or trap. If you need to borrow a crate, please transport your cat from your home to the event in a pillow case to avoid losing your cat enroute. *

• I need to borrow a crate (I assume all risk and realize this may result in losing my cat before I can get it into the event or when taking it home after the event. Loaner crates are for while the cat is at the event and will not be provided before or after.)

• Milano City Resident. The City of Milano covers all costs for their residents to get their barn cats fixed. Must reside INSIDE city limits -- mailing address is not sufficient for coverage.
• Milam County Grant. This takes $40 off the cost per animal.
• May Day. If you have talked to us and we have told you to select this program, please do.
