We have three sponsors so far. If $1000 for a full sponsorship is too much, please consider a smaller amount, and we will match you with someone else to get to the full sponsorship.

Thank you to Jerman Realty, Thweatt Real Estate, and a name withheld until I know if they want it released.

We also have a TNR event scheduled for March 10 and 11–trapping on the 10th, spay/neuter on the 11th. We’re hoping to head off kitten season for this one colony at least. TNR logistics are the challenge. We’ll get this worked out, and when that happens, we’ll be able to make a dent in the kitten explosion challenges people are facing.

We are grateful to the Cameron Chamber of Commerce for recognizing our efforts during our first year of operation with an Excellence Award — which also recognizes the tremendous support provided by you — we can’t do much for the welfare of Milam County animals without your support.

Saturday the 22nd from 9 am – noon, we are teaming up with Charlyne’s Pound Puppies for an event at the Rodenbeck Feed and Seed in Thorndale. Charlyne’s has some adorable pups seeking their forever homes, and we have low cost microchipping. We ask for a $10 donation. The donation jar will be there. If you put money in, thank you. If you need to get your pup or kitty chipped and can’t afford the donation, please come anyway. We won’t turn you away.

February 29 and March 1 is Rockdale’s turn. We’re teaming up with the Rockdale Shelter to offer adoptable dogs at the Rockdale Walmart from 8 am – 3 pm both days. Microchipping will be offered from 11 am – 3 pm.

Saturday, March 7, you’ll find us in our usual space at the Amazing Grace Thrift shop. That’s an outreach event for us, but if a couple of you need a microchip, we’ll be able to accommodate you. Please leave your pet in your vehicle, come inside to fill out the paperwork, and we’ll come outside to implant the chip. We won’t be set up for large scale microchipping, but we’ll be happy to help in a pinch.

That’s our schedule as far as we know it. Carla, our previous Pet of the Week, is still seeking her forever home. Might you be the special person she’s waiting for?
