Milam Touch of Love is pleased to announce our next snip/chip clinic is on June 24th in Milano at the Community Center, located at 303 W. Avenue E. This event is open to all Milam County Residents for their dogs or cats. Please note that the Snip & Chip setup is not suitable for older dogs and cats (over 8 years of age) or dogs/cats with certain medical conditions. Because of this, we may not be able to schedule your pet for snip and chip, but we will recommend having the procedure performed in Dr. Brinlee’s office, where it will be safer for them. For $130 ($80 for male cats) the following services will be performed:

* Spay or neuter (with injected pain medication & antibiotics)

* Rabies shot with certificate and tag

* Microchip with free registration and transfer

* CBC bloodwork

* Heartworm test (for dogs over 6 months of age)

Other services are available for an additional charge.

Special Notes: For residents INSIDE the city limits of Milano: Your dogs and cats will be spayed or neutered free of charge. We’ll check your address and should already know this, but if we miss it, please ask. This includes the basic spay/neuter package and wellness package items. For all other participants, the Milam County Grant is available, which reduces your bill by $40 per animal. Please note that the Thorndale City Resident Program budget has been exhausted for Fiscal Year 2026.

  1. This form is wrong and difficult to fill out because it won’t accept my phone number format, there’s no agreement other than “I won’t get a text or call” and doesn’t include the option for free spaying in town

    1. Hi, Nickie

      Some people do find it difficult to fill out, yet hundreds of people have managed to do so in spite of that. Whether the form is wrong or not is hard to say- probably an eye of the beholder thing. It formats the number for you — just enter the numbers in the space.

      We know if you have free spay or neuter or not, so it doesn’t need to be included in the form.

      Even with the “I won’t get a text or call” agreement, people still ask. I’m not sure what kind of an agreement you are looking for? You sign a consent for surgery at drop off.

      I would like to make it easier for people, so please keep your suggestions coming.

  2. I am just wanting spay/neuter services. I’m trying to clean up a cat colony. I can catch them. Could yall help me borrow cages? Could I get a discount on spay/neuter? I’m talking like 30 cats. I sent the info about the colony a couple weeks ago but never heard back

    1. It takes a while to respond to requests — we have one person who traps for the entire county, and we have 20 spots per month. You being able to catch them does help, but we still need to work into the limited spots.

      We can loan cages. We already offer the service at below our cost.
